In one randomized trial involving patients with SARS-CoV-2, olive leaf capsules, rich in phenolic compounds such as AC, luteolin-7-glucoside, apigenin-7-glucoside, hydroxytyrosol, and oleuropein were shown to reduce viral load and improve several clinical biomarkers, including complete blood count (CBC), C-reactive protein (CRP), ferritin, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) after 10 days of treatment (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04873349)
