(Some plasma lighters have multiple poles and create up to three plasma arcs, but more arcs didnt count for diddly in my experience.) Also, while you can certainly burn yourself if you stick a finger between those poles (in true gonzo journalism tradition, I of course had to try this), a plasma lighter isnt nearly as dangerous to have in your house as a traditional one: Theres no fuel to spill, and some have safety mechanisms that you may find appealing if you have small kids in your home
